Architect and designer between Paris and Milan, Sophie Dries explores the dialogue between history and contemporaneity through material, gesture, and experimentation.
For the exhibition “Les Nouveaux Ensembliers” at the Mobilier National (from October 13 to November 2, 2025), within her installation Octa, she presents with Duvelleroy three unique fans and a limited edition of the Take Away.
The unique fans are made of cotton canvas, worked using a “bleaching” process and the projection of rust powder, continuing her research on material, and pleated by the Ateliers Lognon Maison Lemarié to reveal an unprecedented relief.
Know How
The bleached and rusted fabric leaf is pleated by the Ateliers Lognon Maison Lemarié, couture pleating specialists within 19M, before being mounted on mahogany frame by Duvelleroy, with the expertise of one of the last French master fan-makers.
